Isn‘t life wonderful?

Our answer is yes, ofcourse.

We are so lucky to have so wonderful people come and stay at our guesthouse.

Last week we had the joy of having lovely young persons come and stay for some days.

After they had been here for a day he told me had proposed to her in our guesthouse and she had a beautiful diamond ring.

What a joy to see all the love and romance between young people that have their life together waiting ahead.

Ofcourse, I baked a heart shaped chocolate cake for them to enjoy.

Congratulations Ted and Ariella!

A new outdoor hot tub at Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse

Now we have taken in use our new outdoor hot tub for our guests to use, late afternoons or in the evenings.
We can not think of anything more relaxing after different days excursions, than to be in the hot tub, watching thousands of stars, the moon or the most exciting, the Northern Lights dance above your heads!
Our guests have already tried it out and liked it very much.

A day trip from Minna-Mosfell

On a sunny day in the middle of August our kids invited us on a „surprise trip“.

We had picked the date early this summer. August was very wet this year so chances of a good weather were not so good.
It turned out to be the most beautiful sunny day.

Our kids knew we wanted to explore the Reykjanes peninsula, as we are helping our guests every day planing exciting excursions.
The first stop was at Raufarhólshellir.

Even it is just by the road, we had never stopped there before.  It is easy to get in and it is beautiful.   This time we did not go far in, as we did not have lights and helmets and it is a difficult walk to go all the way.
Next we took the new road 427 „Suðurstrandaveg“.  A nice new road.  We stopped at Strandarkirkja, a nice little remote church. The kids had packed a picnic lunch, that we had in the nature on a very nice spot “Herdísarvík“.
Next we came to Krísuvík.  It is amazing geothermal area.
It was nice to see how much work has been done there, since we visited there last time.

Next we stopped in Grindavík,  http://www.nat.is/travelguideeng/grindavik.htm and enjoyed Kvikan http://www.grindavik.is/kvikan/#.
Out of Grindavík we took road 425.  Our first stop was to look at Brimketill. It is a little hard to find, but a trail lies towards the shore. It looks like a man made swimming pool, but is made by the surf splashing on the lava rock for a long time.

Gunnuhver, was our next stop. It is a high geothermal area. Temperatures of over 300°C have been recorded beneath Gunnuhver.

Next we went to Reykjanesviti, a lighthouse in a magnificent environment.

Not far from Reykjanesviti is The bridge between the two continents. It was our next stop.

On we went along the shore to Hafnir, Hvalsnes, Sandgerði and to Garðskagi, a lighthouse since 1897. It is a popular place to visit for all seasons. The sunset at Garðskagi is known for it beauty, and it is also a good place to play a little!

Life is wonderful at Garðskagi!

Before going back home to Minna-Mosfell we had dinner at Duushús in Keflavík,  it is also their cultural center.

On the way back we drove through Vatnleysuströnd, were the sunset was beautiful
