The Northern Lights were fascinating last night. I have never seen them so spread all over the sky. First we enjoyed them here at Minna-Mosfell with our guests.
We decided to invite our guests on a tour and drove to Thingvellir National Park. All the way were parked cars and people enjoying the show.
We had just a beautiful view of the Northern Lights at Hakið at Thingvellir, in complete darkness in a calm weather but the temperature was -14°C! Pretty cold, but we had all put on 66°North overalls and Icelandic woolen hats and mittens so we did hardly feel the cold weather. Our guests had never seen the Northern Lights before their trip and never been in -14°C so this turned out to be extremely exciting evening. CNN saw a reason to write about this evening :
The time goes so fast. It is just two weeks to Easter. It is wonderful to feel how the days get longer every week. The sky was absolutely beautiful at sunrise this morning.
Right after Easter we are going to start our big project on improvements on our guesthouse. The layout is ready and the sliding glass door that will face south out to a new balcony is here.
This is very exciting and we hope this will all go well and we will have finished in time for our guests that will be here April 26th!
Best regards until next
The birthday cake
We found out the other day that one of our guests had a birthday during his stay with us.
Everyone has to have something special on his birthday!
I baked a french chocolate cake for him and it was on the dining room table when the guest woke up.
It is such a pleasure to make the stay for our guests memorable!
