Treat others as you wish to be treated

Frequently asked questions

Prior to our guests arrival, we have usually been exchanging e-mails, mutually explaining expectations and whishes from both sides.

Below we cite some common questions and ideas from our guests, and our answers and recommendations.

  • Do we need to have a car staying with you?
  • Are there some quiet hours in your guesthouse?
  • Should we stay in Reykjavik our first and last nights?
  • Can you serve handicapped travelers?
  • How long will it take us to travel around Iceland?
  • Smoking?
  • Is there a hairdryer?
  • Do you accept credit cards?
  • Do we need to have a car staying with you?

    Yes, definitely.

Car is a must at Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse due to poor public transportation. The other alternative is Taxi, which is much more expensive.

None driving guests might as well consider an in-town location - sorry!
  • Are there some quiet hours in your guesthouse?

    Yes.

Quiet hours are expected from 11 pm. (23:00) at night until 07 am. (07:00) in the morning.

If a family or friends travelling together are occupying the whole place, and no other guests, other timeframe can be considered.
  • Should we stay in Reykjavik our first and last nights?

No, not for the distance sake.

Coming/ leaving from Keflavik Airport, the distance to Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse is just a little bit longer than to the average Reykjavik Hotel.

Traffic jams and stop lights in town can easily eat up the expected time savings.

Remember the well-known simple fact; shorter is sometimes even – sometimes even longer

  • Can you serve handicapped travelers?

    No, we are sorry.

With all our rooms and facilities on the second floor, we do not have special easy access for handicapped.

Many other guesthouses are of course fit for them.

  • How long will it take us to travel around Iceland?

Important: If you want to travel around Iceland, you must allow enough time, otherwise it isn‘t working for you.

For driving around Iceland you need at least 6 to 7 days, for that trip only.

Then Reykjavik, The Golden Circle, Vestmannaeyjar and the Blue Lagoon and many other very important places are left out.

If you have only a week or ten days in Iceland, you could see much more variety of the country, staying for example at Minna-Mosfell Gesthouse all the time. We would be happy to help you plan daytours from here, in accordance with different weather outlook in different places and taking in account other special circumstances.

We can supply you with special illustrated tour-booklet, picnic packages, towels and blankets for perfect daytours.

  • Smoking?

Minna-Mosfell is a smoke free Guesthouse

But outdoor exceptions can of course be made!

  • Is there a hairdryer?

    Yes.

In the bathroom you will find a good hairdryer.

  • Do you accept credit cards?

No, we do not accept any cards.

We prefer payment in Icelandic currency.

ATM's are very common in Iceland, even two in Mosfellsbær just a 5 minutes drive from Minna-Mosfell Guesthouse
